C-luv Thrift is the creation of Mary Gerard Carlton and George Kretzing. We have known each other for over 30 years and have recently reunited. Our desire to give back to the community where we grew up has presented itself in the form of C-Luv Thrift. Located in historic downtown Carlisle, it has instant visibility and has become a center for locals to simply hang out and feel the vibe.
Our small-town atmosphere and loyalty to Carlisle and surrounding communities is an appealing experience. We take consignments and donations. Our consigners are aware that we keep our prices low in order to present an economical choice for our patrons. We maintain a neat and organized presentation to help with your shopping experience.
Our strive to give back to the community has resulted in many success stories. C-luvlettes is month long selling of Carlisle high school colors Pura-Vida bracelets. For each sale, we donate 5 dollars to the elementary school of the month. We have had three successful disbursements of checks to LeTort, Mooreland, and Bellaire Elementary Schools. We have since expanded our bracelet choices to include Big Springs and Boiling Springs. We have sponsored three summer youth basketball teams. We have an ongoing relationship with the local school nurses. If there is a student in need of clothing, we will provide them with a personal shopping experience in our store. They can choose any of our store items that are our property.
We have two sets of great parents that have taught us to do things the right way. Col and Mrs. Gerard raised eight children in the Carlisle Area School District. Dr. and Mrs. Kretzing raised six CHS grads as well. The Gerard and Kretzing name is forever woven in the community. We aim to continue to carry the torch of goodness that has been passed on to us. Come in and visit us. There is always music playing, and we have a ping pong table in the back to keep shoppers amused.
